Introduction day to furniture joinery
Get started with setting out and producing some common joints used in furniture making and general carpentry
Introducing the one day joinery course - a condensed version of the ‘two day introduction to furniture joinery’.
This one day course focuses on a smaller range of joints and could be a less intense introduction to woodworking joints. It would also be perfect as a refresher or primer for your own woodworking projects at home!
This course will introduce you to traditional and modern furniture joinery. You will learn how to lay out and cut a few of the following joints using hand tools along with using power tools and larger machinery:
This course costs £180 (or £165 with Double Up!), which includes a light lunch at either the onsite cafe or local pub and all materials required.
This course is eligible for our ‘Double Up!’ option. At checkout, choose whether you would prefer to attend this course alone, or that you are happy to double up with another person. It can be arranged for a date that suits both parties.

- Mortise and tenon joints (such as through, wedged, draw bored, stub).
- Dovetail joints (through, lapped).
- Halving joints.
- Bridle joints.
- Domino joints.
- Biscuit joints.
- Dowel joints using a basic jig and a duo doweller.
