Learn how to safely set up and use common Woodworking Machines

Now that woodworking machinery is smaller and more accessible than ever (it's even available in supermarkets!), it's increasingly common for people to look online for tutorials on using these pieces of equipment. The risk with this is that most online woodwork tutorials skimp on the health and safety aspect, putting you at risk of significant injury. For example, American tutorials often do not include the use of guards, PPE and riving knives on table saws.

This one-day course covers the setting up and safe use of the following machinery:
Health and Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)BandsawTable sawPlaner/thicknesserMorticerSpindle moulderWoodturning lathe
By the end of the day, you will have used all the different types of machinery and produced both a push-stick and a product with them, which will be along the lines of a contemporary angular chopping board made from hardwood.

This course costs £150, which includes a light lunch at either the onsite cafe or local pub and all materials.

This course is currently run on a one-to-one basis and can be arranged for a date that suits both parties.
